อธิษฐาน

(ยากอบ 5:13) มีผู้ใดในพวกท่านทนทุกข์หรือ จงให้ผู้นั้นอธิษฐาน มีผู้ใดร่าเริงยินดีหรือ จงให้ผู้นั้นร้องเพลงสรรเสริญ (ยากอบ 5:14) มีผู้ใดในพวกท่านเจ็บป่วยหรือ จงให้ผู้นั้นเชิญบรรดาผู้ปกครองของคริสตจักรมา และให้ท่านเหล่านั้นอธิษฐานเพื่อเขา และเจิมเขาด้วยน้ำมันในพระนามขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า(ยากอบ 5:16) ท่านทั้งหลายจงสารภาพความผิดต่อกันและกัน และจงอธิษฐานเพื่อกันและกัน เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้หายโรค คำอธิษฐานด้วยใจร้อนรนอย่างเอาจริงเอาจังของผู้ชอบธรรมนั้นมีพลังมากทำให้เกิดผล (ลูกา 21:36) เหตุฉะนั้นจงเฝ้าระวังและอธิษฐานอยู่ทุกเวลา เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะสมควรที่จะพ้นเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงซึ่งจะบังเกิดมานั้น และจะยืนอยู่ต่อหน้าบุตรมนุษย์ได้' (ลูกา 22:32) แต่เราได้อธิษฐานเผื่อตัวท่าน เพื่อความเชื่อของท่านจะไม่ได้ขาด และเมื่อท่านได้หันกลับแล้ว จงชูกำลังพี่น้องทั้งหลายของท่าน'(โรม 8:26) พระวิญญาณก็ทรงช่วยเราเมื่อเราอ่อนกำลังด้วยเช่นกัน เพราะเราไม่รู้ว่าเราควรจะอธิษฐานขอสิ่งใดอย่างไร แต่พระวิญญาณเองทรงช่วยขอเพื่อเราด้วยความคร่ำครวญซึ่งเหลือที่จะพูดได้(โรม 8:27) และพระองค์ ผู้ทรงตรวจค้นใจมนุษย์ ก็ทรงทราบความหมายของพระวิญญาณ เพราะว่าพระองค์ทรงอธิษฐานขอเพื่อวิสุทธิชนตามที่ชอบพระทัยพระเจ้า(โรม 12:12) จงชื่นชมยินดีในความหวัง จงอดทนต่อความยากลำบากจงขะมักเขม้นอธิษฐาน(เอเฟซัส 6:18) จงอธิษฐานวิงวอนทุกอย่างและจงขอโดยพระวิญญาณทุกเวลา ทั้งนี้จงระวังตัวด้วยความเพียรทุกอย่าง จงอธิษฐานเพื่อวิสุทธิชนทุกคน(เอเฟซัส 6:19) และอธิษฐานเพื่อข้าพเจ้าด้วย เพื่อจะทรงประทานให้ข้าพเจ้ามีคำพูดและเกิดใจกล้าประกาศถึงข้อลึกลับแห่งข่าวประเสริฐได้(ฟิลิปปี 1:4) และทุกเวลาที่ข้าพเจ้าอธิษฐานเพื่อท่านทุกคน ข้าพเจ้าก็ทูลขอด้วยความยินดี (ฟิลิปปี 1:9) และข้าพเจ้าอธิษฐานขอให้ความรักของท่านจำเริญยิ่งๆขึ้นในความรู้และในวิจารณญาณทุกอย่าง(ฟิลิปปี 4:6) อย่าทุกข์ร้อนในสิ่งใดๆเลย แต่จงทูลเรื่องความปรารถนาของท่านทุกอย่างต่อพระเจ้า ด้วยการอธิษฐาน การวิงวอน กับการขอบพระคุณ(1เธสะโลนิกา 5:17-18) จงอธิษฐานอย่างสม่ำเสมอ จงขอบพระคุณในทุกกรณี เพราะนี่แหละเป็นน้ำพระทัยของพระเจ้าในพระเยซูคริสต์เพื่อท่านทั้งหลาย (2เธสะโลนิกา 3:1) พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ในที่สุดนี้จงอธิษฐานเพื่อเรา เพื่อว่าพระวจนะขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะได้แผ่ไป และจะได้รับเกียรติยศเหมือนอย่างที่ได้เป็นไปในหมู่พวกท่านแล้ว

Is any among you afflicted? Let him pray. Is any merry? Let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Watch Ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel. Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Pray without ceasing in every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.
